Short bio

Dr. Ana Belén García Hernando received her Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, in 2002, and works as an Associate Professor in the same University since 2007. Her teaching and research experience began in 1998 in the Department of Telematic Systems Engineering of UPM, then she moved to the Department of Telematic Engineering and Architectures (currently Dept. of Telematic and Electronic Engineering) of the same University. She has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses belonging, among others, to the MSc in Systems and Services Engineering for the Information Society and the MSc in Internet of Things of UPM.

Dr. García Hernando has participated in diverse research projects, some obtained through public competitive calls and others through private funding. The results of these projects and other research activity has led to publications in renowned international scientific fora, among which there are more than 10 papers in journals included in the JCR database and numerous articles published in international congresses proceedings. She is also the main editor and coauthor of a complete book titled “Problem Solving for Wireless Sensor Networks” (Springer-Verlag London, 2008).
